Meet Strawesome: The Eco-Friendly, Made-for-a-Lifetime Straw

There are plenty of reasons to love Strawesome, like how they’re durable and beautifully handcrafted glass straws. But what we love most of all is their mission: to ditch plastic straws completely.

How eco-friendly are they? Let’s play some hypotheticals.

According to the National Park Service, the United States alone uses 500 million plastic straws every day, and often they are used just one time. Mother Nature does not like single-use products.

Plastic straws can be recycled, but because of their size many literally fall through the cracks of recycling machinery. Since these straws don’t get sorted they can end up in a landfill or worse, in the ocean where they can harm sea life. Remember that video circulating a few years ago of the turtle with a straw stuck in its nose? That’s the threat one straw poses. Now multiply that by 500 million per day.

The solution to the plastic straw problem is playing out in a variety of ways. Restaurants, cities, and even entire countries are banning them, and paper and compostable straws are taking their place. And reusable straws are growing in popularity. Enter: Strawesome.

If it’s a glass straw, won’t it just break?

Strawesome straws are reusable for life. Seriously, they come with a lifetime guarantee. They’re made from super-tough, non-toxic borosilicate glass—the very same glass used in the construction of windows for space shuttles. It can handle the extreme temperatures of Earth’s atmosphere, so, yeah, this glass will have no trouble handling your daily venti soy latte or a run through the dishwasher.

Not only is this glass great for its durability, its vibrant color is aesthetically pleasing, too. Plus you can see through the glass and know whether the straw is really clean or not. Want to keep a straw safe when you’re on the move? Opt for a travel case for its stay in your purse or backpack.

I was looking for a substitute for plastic straws. They needed to be bent and tall enough for my 30-ounce tumbler. These straws are just perfect. They are easy to clean and a joy to drink from. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for an alternative to plastic or even paper straws. The straws are also very sturdy so no worries there.

I have been looking for a way to replace my metal straw that came with my travel cup. It made everything taste like metal. These glass straws are great. No longer need to use plastic straws. The look great and are easy to clean.

Doing My Part

12/9/2018 by Mary

I ordered this to keep my share of plastic straws out of the landfills and oceans. Admittedly, I use a few, but I want a better place for my grandson to grow up. Therefore I use these and bought a carrier to have a straw in my purse for travel.
