For the last 11 years we have been driven every day by our purpose: helping independent Makers and small businesses find their people and grow their business. The COVID-19 pandemic is impacting these businesses in an unprecedented way across the US and around the world. We’re connecting with a few of our Makers to elevate their stories and share the challenges they face. With these stories, we hope our community can see the impact of their support and how these businesses are foundational to our society.

When Rogue Industries Maker Michael Lyons learned that carrying his wallet in a back pocket was throwing his spine out of alignment, he moved it to a front pocket and noticed a big improvement.

Traditional square and rectangular wallets were not made for curved front pockets, however, so Michael and his son Wells began crafting their own better-fitting designs in Maine.

The pandemic inspired the Lyons’ to shift gears from stitching leather wallets to making cotton cloth face masks to donate to health care workers. A silver lining in these difficult times? Despite social distancing, Wells feels a closer connections to other local businesses and Rogue’s community of customers.

It’s just such a time of community and connectedness, that it feels like there is a lot more meaning in ‘work’ now.

  1. I have tried to order 3 Butterfly Pewter Guardian bells, BUT your website is NOT WORKING! I am never given a cart or a way to pay. Very disappointing! Would have made that purchase. Even have told 2 friends about it. What gives? Too bad you don’t have a phone #. If you did, I could order over the phone!

    1. Hi Janis, we’re sorry to hear that. A member of our customer support team will be in touch with you shortly. Thanks!
